Break My Heart ... and I'll Love You

Or at least I'll love your story!

Emotion, lots of emotion. That's what makes a great romance. The highs aren't that high unless the lows take us way down in the depths of despair.

Have you ever had your heart broken?

Of course you have. But before that happened, you soared. The endorphins flowed through your bloodstream, and you floated several inches off the ground. Ah, love.

Then that perfect someone decided you weren't perfect. Or you realized he wasn't perfect. Or you found him kissing your sorority sister ... the dirty dog. Something happened that burst your perfect pink bubble. (Or maybe you married him, and you're still smiling. I hope so.)

When we read romance, we want to experience the highs. But to do that, we have go way down low, along with the heroine and hero.

I love to write heart breakers. If I don't cry as I write, I know you won't have that delicious roller-coaster ride either. And that's just fun!

Meet Stone Masterson. One of the wickedest space pirates in the galaxy. Well ... make that ex-pirate. He's now a wealthy businessman, intent on making his new home safe ... for all the other folks who want to make families there.

For himself, he has no such plans. Doesn't believe he deserves that kind of love. He's convinced he has a Heart of Stone.

Rose Thorne blasts into his life, and demands that he help her find her brother. Somehow she ends up in his bed, and that's when the heartbreak begins.

Will Rose convince this proud, lonely man he's worthy of love ... her love? Or will he always be a heart-breaker?

To get your own FREE copy of the e-book, in any format you wish, leave a comment here (with your email addy). I'd love to know, who's your favorite Heart Breaker? Is he a cowboy, a pirate, a vampire or a contemporary guy?

  1. I love shifter males especially the big cat kind, in contemporary I go for military heroes. If you combine the two... :)

I am still madly in love, we're just a few weeks shy of our 12year anniversary. Can't complain even though I did kiss a few frogs along the road.

Kindle would be perfect, thank you.

  6. OMG! Where do I start? Every time I begin writing a novel I follow in love with my hero and cry with my heroine when he does things to break her heart along the way. I describe this process as "hate-love." I hate them when they break a heart, love them anyway because of the woundedness, and fall madly in love when they tap into unseen strength and figure it out in the end.

Outside of my own novels, though, I hate-loved Jessa Slade's Ferris Archer and each subsequent repentant demon in her series. There are many others, but it would take several blogs to name them all. :)O

Thanks for stopping. You are certainly not alone in finding Christian Grey a fave heartbreaker. The books have introduced many women to hot romance, and the BDSM genre is growing as a result. Which is just fun.

  20. We all want to love a Heartbreaker. Maybe its because of his chiseled good looks, his bad boy attitude, or the mysterious nature of him. Some Heartbreakers are just that, they know what they got and how to use it to get what they want. Then there are those Heartbreakers that don’t even realize that they are doing it. The best part about a Heartbreaker is that there is always a woman that turns their world upside down until they realize it is love. I have read many Romance Novels over the years and have run into many memorable Heartbreakers and my favorites are usually the ones that don’t even know they are Heartbreakers! Some of my personal favorite Heartbreakers are :

Kade Jamenson (Werewolf) from An Alpha’s Path. Kade is a sexy werewolf that will make you burn but a mishap with a potential mate makes him not think he will find love.

Ian MacPhie (Vampire) from All I Want For Christmas is a Vampire. Ian is a heartbreaking Highland Vampire that was frozen in his immortality when he was only 15. With the help of his friend he is given a drug that helps him age to 28 so he could look like a man instead of a child after hundreds of years. He has no idea that he looks of a warrior and the lover.

Lothaire Daciano (Vampire) from Lothaire. Lothaire is definitely a heartbreaker and his cocky attitude proves it! Thinks he’s a gift to women! Its just the sucker punch from a woman he doesn’t realize is his equal that brings him down a notch.

Marius Parker from His Contrary Bride. Marius is every part the gentlemen but doesn’t realize he could also easily be the rogue!

Benjamin Gateway from To Win His Wayward Wife. Benjamin doesn’t realize that he is a heartbreaker because the one woman he loved, he lost….or did he?

Fury North (Human with Canine DNA) from Fury and Valiant North (Human with Feline DNA) from Valiant. Fury and Valiant are strong New Species and gorgeous to boot, but because they are damaged they doesn’t think they can hold onto to the women they love.

Sigimor Cameron from Highland Conqueror. Sigimor is every bit the Highland Laird and warrior but can he hold onto to the beautiful English lady?

Joshua Striker (Werewolf) from Alexandra’s Legacy. Joshua is a scared and battle hard enforcer for his pack and he thinks that he doesn’t have what it takes to make the women melt.
