Going 'Out of This World' to meet Sci Fi Romance Characters

I write sci fi futuristic romance.

That means my characters ALWAYS get to go out of this world, the world in which you and I live. For me, that's just plain fun!

Love me some aliens. And by that I don't necessarily mean green dudes with tentacles hanging off their foreheads ... although come to think of it I do have a character, Dr. Tentaclar (sorry, could not resist the joke) whose eyes are on stalks. And there are several. Pretty useful for keeping one eye on the patient's stats while operating.

But most of my characters are much closer to human, at least in appearance. My Serpentians are gorgeous, golden-skinned creatures with lightning quick reflexes, high resistance to heat and pain, and huge libidos, especially the royal houses of the Dragolins.

Indigons are the Spocks of their futuristic world. Able to read minds, influence them, and keep their emotions out of the equation ... most of the time. You know in a romance I'm gonna mess with the poor blue-eyed intellectuals. Make them fall in love and lust.

Pangaeans are the peacemakers, the sensitive vegans of the galaxy. They garden, work as interpreters and chefs, and their skin has a green cast from all the chlorophyll they ingest. But, let one of them go wrong, and they can be fanatical.

Aquarians are from a planet with many seas, full of mysterious creatures of the deep. Aquarians can spend long periods underwater, are pale and beautiful, and very arrogant. Then there are the Lower Aquarians ... not as bright, and best left in their sea homes, as they tend to leave slime trails everywhere on dry land. Yeah, enough said.

OMG, almost forgot the Tygeans, or Tygers. Grrrrroowl, girlfriend. Everyone should have one of these beautiful, ferocious shifters at her beck and call. Especially when they're under the influence of their mating moons. A big, furry man cat? Come to mama, big boy.

Of course, these races inter-breed with humans, and this can cause some heartache, as these beings struggle to reconcile their human side with their alien blood ... and to exist in whichever world they find themselves.

Makes for some great, angsty, sexy romance, though! You thought it was cold in space? No way!

To meet some of the beings in my Cade-iverse, try my FREE READ, Heart of Stone, and join me in my new book, Stark Pleasure; the Space Magnates' Bride.

Just self-published a new book, Stark Pleasure; the Space Magnate's Mistress. Today I received this very good question from a reader:

Hi Cathryn,

I was visiting your Facebook page and read your post that the romance continues in the next two books of the series.

Does this mean Kiri and Logan do not conclude in the first book Stark Pleasure?  But the second book is about Taara and Creed?

I'm just wondering as it can be difficult to wait for a couple's HEA if their complete story is not yet available to read!  The Lodestar series sounds very appealing so I would rather start reading as soon as possible :).

Thanks, Allison

Allison,

Thanks so much for asking! If you're wondering, I'm sure other readers are as well.

Here's how the LodeStar series will play out.

For the first time, I am indeed carrying one couple's love story through an entire series, while providing HEAs for other characters in the series. I did not want to leave readers hanging with Logan and Kiri's romance at the end of Book 1,  it's just that there is so much sensual romance & adventure that I had to end the book somewhere!

Stark Pleasure; the Space Magnate's Mistress
Can she survive the perils of the galaxy on her wits … or will she have to use her body?

This is Kiri te Nawa and Logan Stark's story. They come together in a very hot relationship, both grow a lot in character, go through some tough times, come back together in the end of the book, but this is not the end of their story.

Logan Stark is a complex character, and a man who has come up the hard way, become a success in his world. He thus thinks he should not only be in control of his world, but the people whom he loves. He manipulates them like chess pieces, all in their best interests, of course. This will get him in lots of trouble with them!

Book II, Creed of Pleasure; the Space Miner's Concubine
Her mother's people are renowned for courage & sensuality, but can her human side go along when she must seduce a man to survive?

With Kiri at his side, on the newly settled
planet of Frontiera, Logan will attempt to give his youngest brother, Creed what Logan does not think he deserves for himself,  a home & family -- by blackmailing one of Kiri's friends into seducing Creed! Creed DOES get his happy ever after at the end of Book II. You can read more about it here, @ http://www.cathryncade.com > Books > The LodeStar Series.

Book III, Captive of Pleasure, the Space Pirate's Woman.
With no memory of who she was, can she become the woman who'll captivate a pirate, body and soul?

Logan decides that it's time for his brother Joran, leader of a band of space vigilantes in the wilds of Frontiera, to take a bride. But when Logan steers Joran to the rescue of an heiress kidnapped by slavers and up for sale at a fly-by-night auction site on Frontiera. More adventures, ending happily for Joran and his new love. More trouble for Logan Stark--stubborn man that he is.

Book IV, Stark's Honor, the Space Magnate's Bride ... well, with a title like that, need I say more? Emoji She'll walk away from the only man she's ever loved ... to show him what he has to lose.

Kiri is so angry at Logan Stark that she leaves him to homestead her own claim on Frontiera -- smack dab in the middle of the territory of particularly nasty space pirates and inter-galactic slavers. Stark, of course, comes after her. He'll need his brothers' and the Intergalactic Space Forces, as well the crew commanders of his space ship Orion to rout the baddies. Then, HEA to the max!

Look for characters from my Orion Series, and from my Free Reads returning to take part in the adventure.

So that's the series in a quick look. Hope you'll find it worth your while.
